Never use CMU block for elevator shafts and stairwell walls. I see this mistake constantly.

It takes months to install. Per code, we can only install 4 ft of block at a time. Then the block has to be inspected with the rebar and then poured.

It takes an average of 1 day per foot in height to install.

I see projects on hold for 4 months while waiting on the shafts. You can't frame until the shafts are installed.
